Hey Carol....it's My Dad's birthday today too!!!

Thanks to Carol over at Reflections From the Fence for reminding me that today would be my Dad's 89th birthday. Today, her blog is a remembrance of Man's Dad's birthday and while I was reading along, it suddenly occurred to me that today was MY Dad's birthday too!

Grams was alway changing spellings--She was a VanGilder and yet, changed it to VanGuilder in Dad's name.
Dad was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on July 1, 1921. Although not born on the 4th of July.....he was always referred to as a "Yankee Doodle Dandy" ;-) He lived his entire life in the Pittsburgh area and died on September 6, 2007 in Gibsonia, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

We miss you daily Dad.
