WHen I was a kid we used to pick those things up by their wings and carry them around. Now that you've posted this all I can say is, "WHAT POSSESSED ME TO TOUCH THAT?" LOL Great image! Thanks for posting it.
To be fair....this little fellow came to me. I was just sitting there minding my own business when the pink of the kayak must have attacted his attention. He was only about a foot away perched on my yak.
WAHHOOOOOOO, cannot beat that one, I do have a dragon fly from last year's Reflections I'll dig out and maybe post over on Flora and Fauna.
The other day there were about 20 or more hovering over the dog pen outside, two birds sat on the pen walls, watching. I even saw one bird jump up in an attempt to catch a dragon fly. Don't think bird was successful.
this is quite lovely, Linda! I've been photographing dragonflies and damselflies all month. I have some interesting photos but none that are this close up of the blue ones. Evelyn in Montreal
Amazing shot...you got so close!

Nope, this is a WINNER!!
Lovely! You couldn't have coordinated the colors better if you had tried.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! This little guy is strangely beautiful. The body reminds me of bamboo. Cheers! Jennifer
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing shot. It's nice to look at the critters this way and appreciate their beauty, instead of getting that "Ew, bug!" reaction.
