Jane Cannon, daughter of Lindsey Cannon and Elizabeth Fife Cannon, was born circa 1819, probably on Lindsey's land in St. Clair Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. Jane lived comfortably for the time period. Her father operated a grist mill, distillery, saw mill and blacksmith shop in a village named for him, Cannons Mills. Undoubtedly, she attended school nearby. She probably helped her mother with the younger siblings and with housework.
Reverend William Reed of the Presbyterian Church, married twenty-four year old Jane Cannon and twenty-nine year old George Oglevie on April 15, 1843 in Columbiana County, Ohio. George was the son of George Oglevie and Isabella Forsythe.
Three daughters were born in the next years. Caroline Oglevie born 1843, Margaret Oglevie born 1848 and Isabella Oglevie born 1849. The Oglevie's settled in Columbiana County, Ohio; therefore, these daughter were Ohioans.

Jane's husband, George Oglevie, died between 1850-1860. She has moved in with her parents, who now own property and a farm in Section 29, Elkrun Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. Jane's daughter is missing from the enumeration. In fact, I have not been able to locate her. She would have been too young to marry. I have not found burial records for George or his daughter, Margaret.

Jane and two daughters are living on their own. Another daughter is MIA, Caroline Oglevie. I have not been able to trace her. She either died, married or moved away between 1860-1870. I did have to google search mantua maker as I had no idea what occupation it was. A mantua maker is a sewing pattern company specializing in women's clothing. The patterns are multi-sized.
