A dear little girl, Catherine Marie Hughes, has joined our family today. January 19, 2009….born on the birthday of Martin Luther King and the day before Barack Obama assumes the role of president. Catherine, what a lucky little girl you are to have been born into such a loving family, not just your immediate family of Mommy, Daddy and Erin, or your extended Hughes/Mawe family, but the American family, whose hopes today are as high for the country as your family is for your future….and in the end they are both one in the same.
